Merry Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas to all.

Stef’s reflections:

2017 has been a year full of adventure and changes and it has been incredibly rewarding. It has been a year that has made me continue to reflect on what is important to me and what I want the future to look like.

As I’ve mentioned in other posts, lifestyle and time with my family is my number one priority. I’ve made many conscious decisions this year that align with this: from limiting the number of late nights I do each week to being more structured with my diary. It hasn’t always been easy but the reward of being able to spend more time with my family has been worth it.

I’m sure 2018 will bring its fair share of challenges and excitement. There is lots happening in 2018, least not the birth of my second child and first son in early January. I am looking forward to the personal and professional adventures 2018 promises to bring

Tim’s reflections:

The older (more mature my wife says) I get, time both seems to speed up and slow down.  Day to day life can sometimes be a blur between family and work, whilst looking back to the start of the year can seem an age ago.

Certainly, this time last year I did not anticipate being in this position today.  Since joining with Stefan and Tanya at Tardis Advice, the amount we have achieved in the last 6 months is nothing short of outstanding.

Both Stefan and myself can be quite focused and demanding of ourselves, more so than of others.  It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks and lose sight of what has been achieved.  However, when we take a moment to look back at the last 6 months and what we have accomplished we are very happy with where we are today.

Bringing in a new partner from outside the business is no small feat, in addition we have changed software platforms (another not so small feat).  A major focus of ours is to simplify our business, processes and lives.  There are always details that need to be contended with, however, you do need to take a step back and ask the question…is this (insert life/career/business) going in the direction we want and what can we do to make it better.

Details matter, but the big picture matters more

We constantly question ourselves, our business and also you, as to the purpose behind each decision so we can continue moving forward in the right direction.

Tardis Advice Christmas Function

We celebrated the end of the year on Wednesday with our Christmas party. The team decided to spend the morning rock climbing. Not surprisingly Tanya (being 36 weeks pregnant) decided to sit that activity out. We had a joint celebration with BD Pro Mortgages. It was a great morning and tested our physical, and at times mental, stamina. We are pleased to note no injuries were sustained.
