Starting a private practice can be difficult.

Often by the time people feel ready to venture out on their own they have many many years of experience and expertise under their belt and are fantastic at what they do.

However, what these people are not always fantastic at is understanding and implement the complex financial matters associated with private practice. Technical skills and knowledge does not equal financial business skills and knowledge.

Quite a few of our clients have experienced this first hand:
The most consistent feedback we receive is that consultants receive extensive training in the technical aspects of their specific field however, due to limited time and limited opportunity, receive no training in aspects related to running a private practice.
Specifically, we receive consistent feedback that consultants receive no training whatsoever in the financial implications and financial considerations of starting and operating private practice.

These eight considerations came about primarily through input and assistance from our clients – both those with established private practices and those considering private practice.
